Ian, I think your problem is in the way you defined your authorized users. The AUTHFOR CONTROL file should look something like this: ALL MAINT * 140A ADGHOPS ALL MAINT * 150A ADGHOPS ALL VSMWORK1 * 150A GOSHMADP ALL VSMWORK2 * 150A GOSHMADP ALL VSMWORK3 * 150A GOSHMADP This tells DIRMAINT that

The easiest is making a DDR control file. Eg DUMPVM DDR A (F 80) SYSPRINT CONS OUTPUT 181 TAPE (LEAVE INPUT 123 DASD 540RES DUMP FTR ALL INPUT 124 DASD 540xxx DUMP FTR ALL etc Then attach a tape drive to MAINT as 181 and issue DDR DUMPVM DDR A P.S. my example builds on the fact that MAINT has
