Running multiple VSWITCHs on the same OSA is a perfectly standard thing to do. They don't have to be same layer 2 / 3. Only question is why you don't use a backup OSA or link aggregation to protect from a single OSA port/card/IO cage or network switch failure. That's not what you asked
