I have a zLinux that is having issues and as a temporary bandaid I
need to cycle the instance every morning. Will the wake command help me
accomplish this? That for everyone input.

I have search the archives and found old post about the FXREC's and
found PTF VM63896 for z/VM 5.1 but I am on 5.2. We just upgraded to a
z9 and HiperPAV is turned on. I am just trying to think what has
changed to cause these messages. In 5.2 just treats them as regular PAV
volume.
I receiving the following errors when issuing the cperepxa command.

I add a volume to a Linux instance does anyone know from the Linux side
to make the instance rescan for DASD without rebooting? It should be
possible, but I can't find a command to do so.

I know this has been asked before and I tried to search the archives
but was unsuccessful. I have a zLinux instance on a Mod 3 and I need to
move it to a mod 9. I was successful in moving a mod 9 to another mod 9
using ADRDSSU from the zOS side. I don't this move will work using

From my reading Hyper PAV only supported in z/VM 5.3. If Hyper PAV
is turn on for the 8300 will 5.2 just ignore it? Or will I run into
some issues? I plan to go to 5.3 later this year.
Thanks

When you get a chance can you please email the document.

Hello All:
I am wondering how everyone handles maintenance in your VM
environment with your zLinux instances. We are trying to push to move
some of our UNIX servers to zLinux but the argument that arises each
time we apply maintenance we have to cycle VM (when we do a put2prod).

Has anyone come across when issuing the put2prod that the system netid
file on 190 disk is overwritten. I have had to recover this file twice
now when putting on a PTF. Is this file being copied from somewhere
else that I don't know about.
