Moving SFS user

I need to move our one and only SFS user from a z/VM 4.4 system to a z/VM 5.3 system on a new mainframe. The quickest way I can see?.Fileserv backup the VMSYSU file pool and send the file from the old VMSERVU 305 (data disk) to the new VMSERVU user 305. Sound right? Thanks, Mary Zervos VM

Mary, If you have VMBACKUP then use that to restore the User to the new system...it will restore all data, authorisations etc...I have used it ma ny times to restore whole filespaces when consolidating SG2 and never had a problem

To be more explicit, the command is FILEPOOL UNLOAD. From a SFS administrator id, assuming JOEUSER is the file space you w ant to move, access the 193 disk and issue - FILEDEF UNLOAD DISK JOEUSER UNLOAD fm where fm is large enough to contain the file space - FILEPOOL UNLOAD FILESPACE JOEUSER
