I would like to use a VSWITCH being managed through CP and operating
over to separate ports on an OSA Express 2 card. Then I would like to
link my main z/VM TCP/IP stack to this VSWITCH. Am I barking up a non
existent tree or is this possible
I am using the two TCP/IP Controllers ID's DTCVSW1/2
you for your cooperation.

It's very possible. I do it all the time.
Put a NICDEF in the directory for TCP/IP, and set up the interface. It
can be the same as your real OSA interface (device number, IP Address,
etc). TCP/IP on VM won't know the difference.
And when you get the second card, the failover process will
. Thank you for your cooperation.

What would I reference as the Link and Device statement for connecting
the Main z/VM Stack to the VSWITCH?
Define a QDIO OSA at your choice of address.
I was thinking of creating the addresses for the main z/VM Stack using
NICDEF statements in the directory and coupling it to the VSWITCH
