It is a shame to hear about your contract termination. But if you are looking for a VM hobby, you could get a copy of Hercules and VM/370 R6, and begin making new tools for that community. :) My new laptop gives VM about 21 MIPS, a whole lot more than the Amdahl 470V6 that I last ran VM/370 on.
