I'm missing something really stupid G
I want to copy some CMS files from 1st level VM to 2nd level VM.
Files such as REXX and JCL seem to copy fine, but my biggest, current
problem is modules.
When I do the FTP, a filelist on both sides shows the exact same info,
such as LRECL, records and
Try:
MODE B
TYPE E
For the MODULES.

I obviously meant:
TYPE E
MODE B
:-) Sorry for the confusion
Before transferring modules, issue TYPE E, MODE B (two separate
commands). You need the FTP client to preserve record boundaries, and it
won't do that without those two commands.
Why make it difficult? Using FTP also makes that the file timestanps get
lost (they are set to the time of transmission), so yopu no longer can
check what level of files you've got.
Make lyour first level mchine LINK to the minidisks you want to get files
of.
So, for example in user LVL2VM
punching the file to the second-level's
virtual reader - there is no sense carrying this too far. :-)
