Hi,
I am not able to send mail using postfix to external destinations.
for local delivery it works fine .
mail.log contains
connect to << host>>:25: Connection timed out
any ideas?

last few days i was fully concentrated on installing and configuring
gnewsense and windows in an old pc at my home;
i found
- gnewsense is much faster than a fresh windows xp installation(settings
- best performance).
- if we become expert in installing gnewsense in a particular situation

some problems i found was , vfat paritions were read only for users
other than root.
umask option helped,I am not sure if a novice will find it very easy.
Had tough time with kde 4. So had to remove it completely.
since i usr only gnome, usability complaints are against gnome.(Others
didnt event
Your ISP could be blocking port 25. Suggest you use msmtp , which will give
you the same functionality.

I think synaptic had one 'generate package download script' option. I didn't
test but I read some where that you could download using this download
script from the other machine using wget.
APTonCD will help in porting packages if its already installed in another
machine.
