192.168.1.3 and 192.168.1.4 are in the same network ( with appropriate
netmask - if we can set that one - I don't know how to do it in a router).
And then ping the two machines - what is the result?

I am sorry that this is not related to free software. My
hard disk crashed and i have important info in that that i need to recover.
When i try to do that by connecting it to another machine as slave the hard
disk was not even getting detected. Is it possible to recover

To change the default LAN IP Address of the router : Login to the router
Advanced Setup LAN ; You can change LAN IP , netmask and All LAN related
settings (*Be careful on these settings*). But usually you don't need to

There are several causes that results failure in detecting the hard disk. If
the cause is any kind of physical/hardware damage, then you can't recover
data by means of softwares.
