In one of my friends desktop which had dual OS (ubuntu and windows), due to
some problem in windows XP, its not working. But the ubuntu was working ok.

My DVD writer (Samsung octoedge) doesn't identify DVDs (luckily it
identifies CD and so i was able to install ubuntu 9.10). many of my friends
with writers of different make like Azeus etc also face the same problem. Is
