The audio being fuzzy is either a) a hardware issue b) configuration
issue. I strongly recommend that you check the settings. There are
musicians who have ditched Mac OS X for Ubuntu :

install Microsoft Windows on some systems. Normally, a user does not

plays fine in it. He keeps reformatting every week (really!) and requires my
Ubuntu for cleaning his army of viruses. Thats why I strongly want him to
convert to Ubuntu.
