I observed from the discussion forum messages, many persons who tried Ubuntu
Karmic Koala reported problems.
A school teacher cum librarian requested me to install Linux in his system.
He need a virus free user friendly non Microsoft OS.
Can I suggest Karmic Koala for his purpose?
There have been issues with upgrades, but fresh installs seem to be
ok. Try Linux Mint 8 RC.. its available at Zyxware.

I havent encountered any problem with 9.10 fresh installation. Im using
Linux Mint 8 RC, it has many small small scripts and gui tools which a
windows user will
i think u can go with that a fresh installation is not so problematic if u
upgrade
only somany different problems
