most of the time, FOSS events are getting confined to CS / IT. you
could use the demo stalls to attract other depts : e.g., Scilab,
Octave, QCAD. Hope you can talk to some of the friends in other depts
to entice them or go thru you HoD.

Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination
save the existing rules with iptables-save , then flush all the
existing rules and try accessing it again . you can restore the rules
with iptables-restore .
