Hi Karan,
I want to list all the rpms that are installed on the Linux box.If I pipe a
grep and a specfic name of a package it is not showing.
I am unable to query the rpm database.

AFAIR newer versions of RPM permit commands of the form:
rpm -qa fileutil\*
to display all rpms whose name begins with ``fileutil''. I could
be wrong though,
