Try manually loading the driver: modprobe eepro100

It's usually a bad idea compiling support for a network driver into the
kernel. It's safer loading it as a module.

i checked out both morphix and the damn small linux websites.
i found damn small linux too spartan for my work. it has no openoffice,
mozilla, evolution, or other such software, and picks up much smaller
and threadbare alternatives. to sit down, download, compile, and keep

coold distro called morphix that lets you do this kinda stuff in a modular
