the problem on my pc: redhat 8, portmapper is up, nfs is up and running /etc/exports has the directory i wanna export showmount -e [localhost ip] shows the above directories. for good measure: 1 ipchains disabled 2 iptables disabled (!) 3 network-security disabled (lokkit) 4) ip6tables disabled
