a1076 Boot Up Error

Hey every. I bought an iMac a1076 a few months aop for my girlfriend and one day it didn't want to turn on anymore. Whenever I try to turn on the imac it just tells me to turn off the computer and let it restart. I think it might be a bad hard drive but I want to hear what you guys have to say.

Hm. Do you have recovery disks or any kind of installation media? If so, you can check the SMART status of the drive, and if it is OK, you can attempt to reinstall OS X. If SMART reports drive errors, replace the HDD. If a reinstall does not work, I would guess the HDD or possibly the RAM.
