Hi Jan, Thank you so much for the explaination. Our solution was interesting. Boot to windows, under 'control panel -> system management -> disk management', delete the solaris partition, re-create an ntfs partition with that space, format it, then delete it, then create an empty main partition

I have a different problem, earlier in the update process but I might as well keep it in this thread, because it also effectively prevents an update: pkg image-update lists the packages it intends to update, goes through the Creating Plan phase and fails when it sees that it can't create an auto
