supporting thing that you have combined modern and classical taxonomy to

It's very interesting. Something that's been puzzling me for years because
the plant is common at Matheran. Some authors have named it as Rourea

Neil Sir,
A correction, or further clarification, this looks like the vegetable which
we call SIM in Bengali, but it is not *Lablab* (*Dolichos lablab* L.) for
sure. This plant has much smaller leaves and pods.

Sir,
I have an earlier post of *Pistia stratiotes* L. at
https://groups.google.com/d/topic/indiantreepix/i8tEjRZPf10/discussion.
This plant in the thread looks different and i think earlier ID
suggestion *Ceratopteris

Hi,
Interesting !
Am familiar with Connarus monocarpus [C. wightii].
Dr. Almeida in his 'Flora of Maharashtra' & Yadav and Sardesai in their 'Flora
of Kholapur District' both describe it as "a much branched Shrub".

Hello everyone,
I've always thought this plant was a Connaraceae.
In the Floras the number of leaflets given for Connarus wightii is 3 - 5,
which means I or 2 pairs and the end one. The Matheran plant in the
pictures commonly has 5 or 6 pairs and a terminal leaflet and sometimes
there are 7 pa

Thanks for the reply. It surely looks like Flacourtia, which is not
well known to me.
I will check it further, and we can wait for more inputs.
Pani-amla is again one of those wonderful fruits, becoming unknown and
unavailable to city people.
