CVS policy is that any change checked in be accompanied by a ChangeLog entry (and a sanity.sh test, actually). As far as advantages over $Log$ messages, you have only one file to look at for log messages per directory, thus having a single entry for each "job" checked in, even when the changes ma

Call me paranoid, but I'd probably just 'cvs add' the file again. As for changing an RCS file killing you, Michael, I'm pretty sure that the rumor about the CVS RCS code occassionally changing the sync rate of video cards and causing monitors to explode really is just a rumor, but you never know.
