Hi everyone,

I'd like to get your feedback on what a good general topic of

Or is this already possible and I'm just ignorant?

The suggested model is the one I usually use and recommend. You will still
need Nestor's merge method to avoid conflicts when you merge to the trunk a
second and subsequent times. The extra tagging isn't a bad idea, anyhow - it
makes it easier to back out changes if you ever make mistakes, too.
You might be able to do something with CVSup.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but couldn't find it in the

In WinCVS, how do you find all the files that I have locked

Right now, I have to browse each directory manually to see that.

Hi,
I've installed and am happily using CVS on my user account here at

So, my question is: Is it possible for CVS to keep

You might be able to be sneaky and run your code through the C preprocessor before
you run it through your other compiler. I'm fairly certain there's a way to do a

There is currently no way to retrieve a file's fileattr through the
client/server protocol. This makes the feature non-extensible (when new
fileattrs are to be added) among other things (eg there's no way to find out if
a file's watch status is on). I propose to add a "fileattr" request in the

Look up 'cvs watch', 'cvs edit', and 'cvs editors' in the Cederqvist or

Yeah, I don't get why the Unlock WinCVS command doesn't unlock the

Veronica,
I have experienced similar mysterious happenings... and tracked it
down to this: It appears to me that :
CVS stores the location of the repository used in a "get" or "update"
operation in the CVS/Root file of the working directories.

Hello,
As many of you may have learned, WinCVS (I use 1.1.b12) provides a
locking mechanism for a user to lock a module or a file.
However, the lock does not prevent the user from starting an editing
session, modifying or updating a file. The impact is that once a user
