When I grant group level write to the the cvs directories everything
seems to work except:
cvs checkout: warning: cannot write to history file
/aacustom/cvs/CVSROOT/history: Permission denied
But now I wonder, granting group level to this file opens us up to
removing these files.

Hi,
Recently I noticed this that, If I keep the files locked for long
times (I am not sure how long it is - more than a week), the CVS is
disabling the lock on it even though I edited that file. Other users
can reserve that file without my notice.
Please let me know how to overcome it.
Thanks,

No, it didn't, or you wouldn't be having problems. Either the ownership
or the permissions got changed, or you don't consider directories to
We recently moved our CVS repository to another directory on the same
HPUX box. Security remainded identical on all files..
However, we are now unable to checkout files, and likely perform any
other cvs functions.
Is there a procedure moving the CVS repository?

The %1{...} syntax only works with CVS 1.12.x. For CVS 1.11.x, get rid
of the 1.

You need to direct this question to a newsgroup or mail list that

I think David's point was that CVS itself will work well, but be careful of
any add-ons - they may not work as expected. At least, that's how I
interpreted his message. And it's a

Hi all,
I have just down loaded CVS-1.12.11 source. I want to use it for
production.
First thing, is it required to patch this with ACL patch or the ACL
patch is merged?
Second thing, when I run make check, check seems to hang. Output of
make check is
