We run ClamAV on all of our mail servers.
Sadly, this does not help when the signature doesn't come out
promptly, and the messages are being sent with a (forged) from address
of a valid subscriber.

directory allow the Cyrus user to write to it, and it will generate
one file per connection, named after the PID of the process.
In my case, I can create /usr/local/imap/log/jeaton/ and get telemetry
logging in there.
(pre-IMAP) mailsystem (AMS), simply sending mail to
the posting address automatically created the relevant mailbox. That
ability was not carried over to the new system, instead we set the ACL
on the top level to allow any user to create a subfolder.
