mailboxes works fine. The sieve scripts are working as well. The only
problem I am facing, is everytime I try to login using cyradm (with command
line, or from Perl scripts) i get get the following:
# cyradm --auth login --user cyrus --pass ANYTHING localhost
Login failed: can't request info until later
Hello:
Actually further to this, POP logins are working, but IMAP are not. I think
this is why Cyradm can't login. Any idea why? Here is my imapd.conf:
configdirectory: /var/imap
partition-default: /var/spool/imap
admins: dima cyrus
sasl_pwcheck_method: saslauthd
sendmail: /usr/sbin/sendmail

May I suggest you user the --server server argument when you
invoke cyradm. That way you control exactly what server address
it's going to.
I should have said that, while Citadel is bound to the alias adapter, I
get the cyradm: cannot connect to server
=192.168.224.105:imap
prefork=2
imaps cmd=imapd -s listen=192.168.224.105:imaps
prefork=1
...
}
When I try to use cyradm, I get the message:
cyradm: cannot connect to server
If I shut down Citadel, and change cyrus.conf to listen=imap, I can use
cyradm with no problem
Dan,
It sure sounds to me like cyradm is favoring the alias ip for some odd
reason that probably has to do with your machine more than cyradm. When
you shut down Citadel and change cyrus.conf to simply 'listen=imap,
then cyrus is listening on all available addresses and that solves
Yes that was it - Keith Matthews - now postfix works only it can't find any mailboxes... as they haven't been created... and now cyradm won't work as expected. When I am going trough the test phase (
http://www.delouw.ch/linux/Postfix-Cyrus-Web-cyradm-HOWTO/html/test.html )more exaclty this part
I guess that's settled now... and I also got web-cyradm 0.5.4-1 working
by removing the mail user from mysql and dropping the mail dabase then
recreating all with $CRYPTO set to plain as this guys sais it here http://www.ductape.net/~mitja/linux.html
.now this is what I am getting from [EMAIL
quick updateI just reset the password for the system cyrus user (/etc/shadow) to exaclty the same password just as the mail database user cyrus (in mysql)now it sort-of works... but cyradm won't insert the users into mysql...!
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# passwd cyrusChanging password for user cyrus.New

without this it cannot find an authentication method. i added
Thank you, that's got it. I had a feeling this was the answer but I was
hesitating because it contradicts the requirement that admin users NOT
receive email.

It is possible that I did this a while back during an experiment with
shared folders but I have no idea how I did it.
I am also having a problem logging in to cyradm. I can not login using
cyradm --user cyrusimap
I wish to use cyrus Imad and cyradm to adminster
in my /etc/cyrus.conf file
the only service available
imaps cmd=imapd -s listen=imaps prefork=1
Which means I am using ssl.
when I try to use cyradm, and specify port 993, I can seem to log
on.
What are the magic commands when I use
or remove based on preferences
imap cmd=imapd listen=imap prefork=1
imaps cmd=imapd -s listen=imaps prefork=1
cyradm -u cyrus --auth PLAIN your.host
Password:your password
IMAP Password:imap password
once your are in, you can use the cm user.name to create the mailbox
