Has anyone incorporated
wireless into their internal building networks? If so what is your application
for it? Who would be some vendors for quality wireless (not LinkSys)?
How well does it perform for you?

We use proxim-orinoco 4000. It has ab/g,
ability to be bridged, and ssid (which we currently dont use). We need
to do a building assessment to see what we have is properly placed. The co-op
price and cdwg tend to differ in price, with cdwg usually being cheaper. Good
luck looking.
We have used 3COM and Proxim, both work well. In our new middle school, we will be usingExtreme gear to match the rest of the switches on our network. One of the things to watch for regardless of vendor is the firmware. It seems manyof them ship without the latest version, and just getting that

With the current discussion on wireless I want to remind everyone that we
can perform on-site wireless surveys. The following link shows the type of
reports we will be able to provide your district.
In order to perform a complete site survey we will need access to all rooms
in your building.
Kathy, I dont mind getting two of
everything. That way Im sure not to miss something. So send Bud my email
address. Thanks.
