I'm doing a pilot with some 8th grade students using gmail.
Who out there is doing student email and what things have been problems,
concerns, issues.

Okoboji has student email for grades 5 - 12. We use hmailserver with a
squirrelmail web based client which is all free and integrates with
Active Directory. We run it in house, and it is monitored for
inappropriate content by me. I have an inbox with all incoming and
outgoing messages

Four students per computer would be excellent however 5 to 9 per is very
common.

We have a couple of subs who are in the district about 3-4 days a week. We
have created accounts for them. All others have no access
