I am asking other school districts who have deployed an effective 1:1 computing
environment, are you running Windows devices, Macintosh devices, a mixture of
both ??? How many devices are deployed? We are looking into this type of
deployment and would like some insight from other districts.
We deployed all apple equipment and have inly one small lab for project lead
the way with windows boxes in it. I have 380 student laptops in one building
and about 24 teacher laptops in that building as well. We did the 1:1 with our
7-12 building. My elem is all apple too, 3 labs and 25 or so
We are in our second year of a 1:1 deployment in grades 9-12. All 1:1
student laptops are Apple, as are our main servers. Teachers in grades PK-3
and 9-12 all have Apple laptops, as do special-ed staff, counselor, study
hall supervisor, and ELL/At-Risk teacher. Grades 4-8 are all Windows, and

planning stages. I just recently stepped into the tech position after being
retired for two and a half years. I am a bit more cautious in a 1:1 deployment
than my predecessor, having been on the bleeding edge
