Given the phenom DX that we've had this season with
LOW numbers, I would have expected crap tonight.
Anything but. Bamberg SC on 790 on the car radio just
outside Toronto. New catch. No way on 100 watts
nightime ... or maybe? 1310 WDOD Chattanooga TM
hogging the channel. Relog but not common.
Just IDed St. Louis 1600,The new 1600 hallelujah AM...
only 2nd time ever heard. What's this about Auroral

I only have an analog clock radio and I'm near a tower on 1590, so this is
just a guestimate that I was listening to 1530 WCKY as it's about the only

I made the mistake of going out in the backyard (swamp) and raising the EWE

Portland-Vancouver area this evening. The winds peaked around 730 pm in
Hi Steve,
Thanks for checking on us. I emailed Patrick early last night and haven't
heard from him yet. The wind is always more fierce on the coast, but the
way it was blowing last night, I'd wonder if the coast is even still there.
I'm sure some shingles are gone here, a minor thing. We have
I got a phone call from Patrick last night and he was in a Motel in Astoria as
he did not want to stay in his house with 100 MPH winds. He is fine but a lot
of the area is with out power. All three of the locals were off the air last
night due to no power. He said that he would return home
Only one TP was heard today and that was 594 with very weak audio at 1424 UT.
It was very weak and only heard on the loop and not on the EWE.

Hey All, It is a contstant source of humor to me when

Like Walt, Colin, and a few others have reported, this storm was a
wild ride. The power went out 19 hours ago. Because the AC mains are
underground around here, the lights rarely go out in our vicinity.
However, this was one huge storm, even worse than the fabled 1993
Inauguration Day storm.
Last night was the deadest night I have ever witnessed in my 35 years of
overnight, bedside, AM DX listening. Nothing below 1500 was audible at all,
except for a short window around 2315 local time when CKAC Montreal on 730
faded up to about 10% of normal strength right at the end of the hockey

Bruce,
Well, we came through the storm. It was the daddy of them all too. At
least as long as I have lived here, since 1981. My neighbor told me that
he saw wind gusts of 110 MPH! My house came through it fine, and no
trees down on my property. However, 3 roofs blew off in the area and a

Don,
The icepack takes up the same space as the water does, so I don't think
