Conditions seem to be great this morning. Unfortunately I didn't manage
to log anything new.

For those who have Scott Fybush's calendar, Frebruary 2007 has a
fantastic shot of the KGO site. What a beautiful shot. I would have
bought the calendar for that pix alone. No wonder I hear them up here at
nearly 600 miles during the day!

Hi Glen, k g o's transmitter site is by the Dumbarton bridge, and I
believe that is in Newark California, and the knbr transmitter site is
in Bellmont, I do believe, but I had heard it was by the San Francisco
international airport, but maybe I'm confusing them with k g e i on
short wave.
On Wed,
Marty Duplicate signals heard on other freqs are more
than likely harmonics instead of signals coming from
repeaters since big city stations usually dont
transmit on alternate freqs in nearby smaller towns
unless it's a network set up to fill in deadspots
which is more commonly done by FM stations.
Glenn,
I think you're right. KGO is strong enough here (8 miles directly north,
over water, in their beam) that they take out 800 and 820 and still heavily
distort 790 and 830. I am also about 10 miles SSE of KNBR with their 50KW ND
antenna. Needless to say, there's a bunch of non-exist
I would like that, but as I said, I need a radio and an antenna...=)

KNBR on 940 would be a leapfrog mixing product, as I like to call them On SW,
of 680 over KGO 810, a further 130 kHz. Are the KGO and KNBR sites close enough
to interact? It could be an external mixing product, not necessarily
receiver-produced front-end overload. 73, Glenn Hauser, OK

Nick,
Do they list all the call letters at s/off or at some other time?
1640UT is 8:40am here, well after LSR and the time all the locals
power up.

Nice catches, nice recording Paul!!! Thanks for sharing. When I was in

SPUR is probably a better word, as harmonics would have a relationship to the
frequency of the station and the frequency of IF transformers. I get KNBR on

was KNBR. Where you are, also look for KFAX on 1000 and KGO

If you can get by KVI, you should hear CFWH. I have heard several times
here. I must admit, it was easier when I had the 2,000 foot beverage to
the N/NW though. I also heard CKRW 610 too.

Thanks Tim,
I've logged XESURF a number of times, but I didn't know about the change. I
remember KZLA FM and I think one other "larger" country station in the LA

Hi All,
Anything in the west broadcasting CW music on 540? Earlier, I heard a
little bit of probable KVIP-Redding, CA, but the noise is doing it's thing.
CBK was in well earlier but is fading out/noise getting stronger. The other
factor is my local on 550 prevents me from looping anything exce
