Craig,
That was one item I was wondering about. So we know now that IBOC does
make it overseas. This IBOC issue is messing up a lot more than just the
AM band in the US.

Walt,
Nick reported KIFW Sitka to be quite strong out in the Pacific off the
coast of BC too. But with a local 7 miles away and the Northerly lobe of
the EWE's phased, I may have to catch KKEE off.
I still need:
KIAM-630-Nenana
KIYU-910-Galena (may be silent)
KNSA-930-Unalakleet
Bruce,
Thanks! You logged KIFW at Grayland. Then if the AK are low and KKEE is
off some Winter morning, I should have a shot. I figured it should be
heard as I get KTKN, KJNO, KRSA, KINY often enough through the years.
With eight more to go, those are toughies. You might catch KIAL in the
Bruce,
You did not mention KIYU-910? Did you log that one too? I heard they are
(were?) silent though. You have caught both KSKO and KZPA then? When I
heard KZPA, they were topping CKMO a few years back. The same night I
heard KSKO. KZPA has a realy nice QSL card too.

The digital power is not 1% of analog, though everyone seems to think it
is.
You're thinking of the FM system, which is a different breed of cat. In
the
AM system, the digital power is either 5.8% or 6.8% of the analog power,

Wow, just awful conditions my 60 minutes per dawn sweep (1310 UT)
was the worst that I've had this year, even counting the few times
that I checked in late August. The aurora has just got to be kicking

Paul,
Looking at the Cordova wx forecast. Reminds me very much of the Seward

Walt,
So true. The AK do affect things, but sometimes I feel there is more at
play. I have seen some years that by mid October the Fall cx are already
dropping off. I hope that is not the case this year.

I heard KIYU last year at Grayland. It was just before the IRCA
convention. I think Neil K heard it first and tipped us off. It was
dominating 910 at the time, during a good Alaskan opening.
KIYU has been silent since July, according to its website. A dump truck

has not happened as yet. It will be interesting to see how DX in the

It sounds like your logging of KIYU was much the same as my logging of
KZPA-900. When they get on, I will have to park on 910. What time did
you hear KIYU?

The important diversity element is the time diversity between the analog
