Dane,
Also 1140 AB also went through a lot of call changes, I remember CKXL,
CISS, etc. I think I have them all QSL'd too. CHRB is good here too.

WMT is a possibility. CKPK is also strong here. Sending the a CD report
out on Monday, to get their 4th Call letter QSL'd since I first heard
them in 1962. Sad to see them leave the air, even though I am not fond
of their current "The Peak" format.

Note that CFXL-1140 Calgary AB moved to FM more than 10 years ago -
their frequency and transmitter are now used by CHRB-1140 High River A
Yeah, I just snagged KNZZ-1100 using it to null tough KFAX.

Years ago, I made a device to peak up the untuned ferrite bar antenna in my
DX-440. It's simply another ferrite bar, tuned with a small tuning capacitor
out of the same radio that donated the bar, mounted in a piece of vinyl
channel. The idea is to lay it on top of the DX-440, and use the capacitor

Pat,
Thanks for the suggestion of KGEZ-MT 600. I have checked the Dave Ramsey
station list twice on Radiotime.com. The only stations listed are WKYH 600 KY &
WMT 600 IA. Their progam times do not match the time I listened.
Guess it will remain a mystery?

Dennis,
One of the stations on 600 was probably KGEZ-MT. They have a minor lobe
this way and I hear them often. Jamestown ND also has been logged.

Not strong enough to really even show on the SDR-14 display. Got a couple
of songs I identified, but really not enough to say I received it. The
antenna I have isn't very good above MW frequencies.

Mike,
You did good to log CHLW in So Cal as they send most of their signal
into Canada. They aren't that strong here. 1440 is better.

I logged CHLW 1310 here in Southern California the night that KEIN in Montana

A very good morning here, certainly the best of the month. Best Chinese

As poor as I usually get Asian TPs, there were some MW ones this morning--I
would call it a decent morning here. 567, 594, 648, 828, 891 all with Asian
audio. 1566 big het, 1575 weaker het. All in the 1500 utc timeframe.
Far East Russian LWBC doing well at the same time, 153, 189, 279.

The current QST has an interesting article on adding a loop antenna on a

extended up above the beam. Insulators were tied to the ends of the beam.
Wire was run horizontally above the beam through the insulators and up to

Last night was a remarkable run from China: Saul noted France missing from
1377 at 1802. At 1815 a TWR IS was heard, with possible Iran in the background.
At 1956 I heard "Govorit Minsk" on 1376.98, with TWR still going strong. So
where is this station?
