Patrick,
I have heard modulation on 180 KHz at local noon during several winters in a
quiet location. The carrier is always detectable with a BFO. 180 (Petro)
sunset is around 0510 UTC this week. 279 has been the strongest TP this season
out here. Full listenable quality on consumer Grundig

Thanks for the report from Hawaii. I have never heard a TP that early

XESS has had a weaker signal here in Orange County at night for the past
month or two. I can hear KTAR easily now and I have heard a tentative on

Patrick,
The Russian on 180 is parallel in programming to shortwave 6075. Also,
Russia on 279 has been huge this season.

Tim,
I am not excusing the XEs for all of the stuff they do. Not at all, but
is it right "our" IBOC is QRMing so many XE's, and the Canadians too.
They have done nothing to deserve this. I am sure IBOC hash does not
stop at the border. I am surprised the XEs/Cubans are not starting a
jamming war.
At 0500 I have Russian on 180. I presume this is FE as I could not find
any European Russian listed. Fair audio with man in RR with news. This
may be the earliest I have heard a TP, other than Tahiti 738.

XESS has a much weaker signal these days. Locally they're getting hammered by
KOGO's IBOC, which makes them one of the few stations to actually DESERVE it.
The folks that run all of these stations are essentially pirates in my book...

Hey Colin:
My Sony 7600GR also has substantial problems with images, and like you I
don't have any other receivers that have images to that extent. Even the
