Walt,
You are right...Gee,I even had a K9AY for a while...Not a bad antenna,
except low gain. I like the EWE's better though.

Since HDTV antennas have to be replaced in many cases, you may just get a
good deal somewhere like on Craigslist, although it might not have UHF.

I'm going to have a place soon where I can put an antenna outdoors.
I need a reccomendation for a good, sturdy DIRECTIONAL outdoor antenna that
can withstand some heavy rain, snow and wind. Id like to keep the cost of
the antenna under $100, as I plan on getting a rotor, mast, tripod and etc.

Any good tips on a directional FM antenna that is GOOD and not too
expensive? Under $100? Ive read some reviews and the radio shack ones are

Nothing yet. I'll ask John if he found out anything. KLMX is main suspect.

My bet would be one of them is 960 CFAC. They come in here to SW MT now and

have been with ESPN radio but their Wiki article says they have b

Hello Paul
Do you still need to fiddle with the pot one side of which previously ran to
ground/earth on the EWE?

It all depends on your ground conditions I suppose but gentle hammering
of 4 ft copper pipe works here.
Although the ewe reduces signals from the rear well, I would suggest you
consider a flag.
I'm only able to run the flag with the bottom wire lying on the ground,

I'm planning on sitting up a few EWE's over the next few weekends. How
much ground rod do EWEs require? Would 4' copper pipe be sufficient?
Also, does anyone have any advice on a easy way to put a copper pipe in
the ground? I believe I read something years ago about using a garden
hose connect
Didn't have much time later on, but conditions seemed "better" earlier; most of
the listening was from 1318 to 1332, with quick check backs just before 1400 and

needed to pounce on signals during brief fade ups. Overall...d

Hi Chris and Paul;
Indeed that is a good catch and it shows that the Sony can dig out good
DX. Unbelievably, I'm just 180 or so air miles East of Springfield and
this one has escaped my logbook. I'll try for them but with their
pattern not favoring Indianapolis, I'm not holding my breath. Congr
