Interesting to see you've heard Dongfang on 603 Bruce. That (or at
least CRI on 603) turned up here at home in the fall of 2009 (those
were the days!), but I'm still wondering whether their directional
pattern goes wonky from time to time, as they're supposed to be
beamed due south and we're
Rather late, but it was a busy day after the morning's DX
session. The session was a little odd, in that there weren't a lot
of strong signals, and a couple of the CNR1 stations were at similar
levels to some of the big Japanese guns at certain times. Yes, some
Chinese were doing well, but
Sorry to hear that you're leaving your great DX site. Where, if I can ask,
will be your new QTH?.Walt

Gary, it was my first morning at Rockwork south of Cannon Beach using the
FSL antenna! First of all, I had set my alarm for 5:15 to give plenty of
time to set up and get out there (about a 15 or 20 minute drive).
Unfortunately, the alarm didn't go off, and I awoke at 6:15 instead.

It's great that you, Chuck and Tom are having fun at Grayland-- and it seems
like you guys picked the perfect time for ocean beach DXing (considering the
current solar cycle realities).

Heard a station on 890 which identifies itself as KIRB, serving Travis
Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA. Couldn't find anything on a station
with call letters of KIRB. My QTH is about 32 miles from the AFB and
the signal is not very strong and was mixing with KDXU from Utah a 10 KW

Grayland standards but still worth the trip. Audio was heard on nearly

Hello All,
It was another nice TP-DXing morning here, with the Chinese stations especially
doing better than they have all week. 603, 639, 738, 936 and 1044 kHz all came
through with fair to good audio from 1330-1415, with 639-CNR1 the strongest of
the group. 738-BEL2 in Taiwan matched i

I was monitoring 1710 KHz last night and heard something different

I found the TPs significantly down on yesterday, with audio from
only a few. (Japan on 594,774,828, Korea on 1566, and VOA Thailand on

than yesterday. Obviously some factor is at work there that I don't
understand!
All my wire antennas are down now in preparation for moving from this
wonderful location, but I have an 8 foot diameter active loop still up,
