Hi All,
Last week on Oct 31 / Nov 1 around 00:00 UTC, Halloween night has much
more to offer than candiesas propagation was at its best so far this
seasonhere. Iran for instance, was all over the place with 17 stations
logged from the top to the bottom of the band. Here's an interesting
Because of a fussy Sun it was a good morning here for sleeping late. The only
signals were hets from Asia on 558 and 828 kHz. There was a brief barely
audible signal on 774 kHz at 1257 GMT.
Meanwhile it was a good night for hearing signals from the Canadian prairie
provinces and North Dakota.
Rather awesome DX from QC, Sylvain. We've had 1521 China from Newfofundland -
seems to make it almost every trip out there - but it's not exactly a slam
dunk. Did you wait patiently for Saudi Arabia to fade down or was China alone
or otherwise dominant? I wonder how far inland this one could
An inspirational list of target stations for us inland-bound listeners Sylvain.
Heartiest congratulations!!

My gosh, it was a good morning at the coast though Richard. Details

Saudi Arabia wasn't so dominant surprisingly in my recordings. I usually
have a better copy of BSKSA using the 55° Beverage but when cx are
favourable, the 35° wire is much more interesting to stick with bringing
much more surprises while leaving Spaniards in the null. The noise floor

3 Radio Rossii long wave stations and 2 Alaskan weather stations received this
morning. MW was the usual stations with a unknown station briefly on 684.
Conditions last year at this time must have been poor as I had no reports for
November 5, 6 or 8th 2011. Last years 11/07/2011 receptions
Hello All,
As Nick reported, Asiatic TP's were unusually strong here this morning around
the sunrise period. With only 25 minutes to check the band (from 1440 to 1505)
I discovered huge big gun signals showing up from both Japan and Korea (594,
657, 747, 972, 1053 and 1134 kHz). 603 kHz had a
Halloween night definately had some superb cx. I've been DXing sunset skip,
mostly to the west from here in IL for 18 years, and I honest feel that
Halloween had the best western SSS cx I've ever experienced from here. Jan 4,
2002 was legendary as was Feb 1, 2012 (Feb 2,3 also not so bad) but
Nick:
I listened during the Japanese sunset hearing nothing. Then
again during the 90-minute period before sunrise here, again
hearing nothing more than what I reported.
Richard.

The end of Oct has often proven to be outstanding for SSS DX and while this
year was decent, things became superb on Halloween night. I'll provide a
reasonable synopsis here. I arrived home just a bit too late to get an 1800
recording to the south so I soon drove into my east field
That was the morning that just wouldn't quit. It wasn't equivalent to being
right at the coast, but it was sure a nice surprise to find audio on so many
channels between 1400 and past 1500UTC, fully expecting them to fade away at any
moment, but it not happening. Some of the big guns may have

Spanish noted on 657 and 954 - both Madrid - before my local sunset for one new
catch. 954 is new. 657 a relog from being new two nights ago. Strong hets on
most lower band channels, below 1200, not much (yet) above 1200. Domestics good
too, to east ands west. 1540 netted WSIV - close by in
I'm in Montreal at the moment and I'm unable to verify Gaspé

Hello All,
As Nick and Dennis have already reported, it was a pretty wild sunrise
enhancement session this morning, with huge TP signals all over the band. After
checking TP propagation during the Asian sunset period (around 0930 UTC) and
finding almost nothing, I figured that our local
For second night in a row I am hearing WQGR416 / WQBT209 in a dual ID - they're
both on 1700 - along with two other stations mentioned, all in Ashland VA.
Seems like an info station, with various phone numbers and such. Haven't had
time to investigate on web. New here. TA action

Interesting that things were so good on the coast. My experience
this morning was more in line with Richard in OK. Not as dreadful as
yesterday (at least I was getting decent carriers on the regular TP
channels), but still no audio. Hopefully tomorrow some of those
signals will drift
Very impressive list Sylvain. I agree that night was the best of the
season thus far. I only heard about 7 or 8 TA's with audio, but that
still rates as the best night of the season. Did add Iran on 1116 to
the log for a new one.
You mentioneed Ürümqi on 1521. Certainly haven't heard
