For those who may be interested, I am hearing KOA-850 in Denver. What I was
surprised about is that they are now carring Coast To Coast AM. Have no idea
how long KOA has been doing this. New for me.
KOA is weak but readble here in Polk county TN. They are under the 850 station

unknown Spanish station with Mexican music. Many NPR mentions and dominated
most of the ten minutes I listened. Thanks to Bruce for his posting on 10/17.
If I can catch a ID will be a new station here.

Hello All,
One of the longest Mid-October anomalies in recent memory dragged on for a
fourth straight day here as Asian propagation once again seemed stuck between
miserable and mediocre. Halfway vibrant audio was again limited to the big gun

Good morning,
This morning while trying to get a ID from the NPR station on 890 a Spanish
station was heard over/under the NPR station and CJDC. At 1500 utc (8:00 AM
PDT) the Spanish station mentioned Idaho. Wondering if KYWN is Spanish or is

KYWN is indeed Spanish now. Was able to find a few audio clips on
radiodiscussion.com that pointed solidly to KYWN. I was also getting SS on 890
last night, but with clear "Radio Cristiana" IDs, which is KVOZ in Laredo,
Texas, running day power way after local sundown.

Today's conditions were similar to yesterday in terms of signal
strength. Overall TP reception was rather unexciting, but not as bad
as some of the sessions earlier this week.
Most of the action didn't start until after 1400, with some stations
peaking around 1420-35. There were still a few
At 1618 UT, I'm still getting weak TP carriers on 972 981 1287 1566 and
1575. No hope of audio - at best, they're 10-15 db above the noise.
Still, it's interesting to receive them 2 ours after LSR.

Some slightly better conditions today, but all reported here are at
peak levels, usually they were much worse. Concerning Bruce's
comments about carriersI think by this time of year, they can
hang in pretty late, but audio, a whole other thing. This morning,

I checked today and yes the modem noise is still there, just less with the
shield. I have hooked up a switch to just click it off when I want to DX. I can
forward my calls to the cel phone so I will still get them. I will have to come
up with something else. Maybe there is a dual Modem out there

Rick,
Thanks to the information on KYWN being Spanish now. Congratulations on your
KVOZ reception. Now hopefully I can get a ID out of NPR on 890. Bruce got one
this morning at 1359 utc.

After three terrible mornings, today was only bad, so an improvement.
Finally heard audio again from Japan on 693 and 774, though weak. Best
signals were actually around 1300, and then they slid from there. Nearer
to sunrise the DU carriers seemed to dominate, and I had traces of audio
