I would need to look but I bet at least half of my QSLs in the past 9 years
are prepared cards. A few professionally printed cards but several homemade
type QSLs. Very few letters on professionally printed letterhead but many on
plain paper and some of them have station logos added.

was 279, and only at fair level. Otherwise 3 or 4 of the more powerful

I'm not sure what source you use for TIS calls, but FCC lists a different call
for Strongsville.
The woman is a different station and there's a highway mention. I can't make
out the complete calls. Things might be easier if you could record so people

KCBS doesn't have a favorable day or night pattern to the west and is very rare
hear. I'd not think that an all new station would be touting their hourly news
unless close to the hour.
There are certainly better candidates for CA SSS catches in Omaha using a loop.

The wobbler was so loud on 650 kHz last night that I almost posted about it in
honor of W Curt Deegan of Boca Rotan Fla, who passed away a few years ago. He
had a website for it that seems to have been taken down. It was by far the

The frequency "wobbling" originates at the Cuban stations.
It would seem to be intentional rather than just being a result of
poorly-maintained equipment.
This has been noted at different times on many different Cuban stations
including those you mentioned, plus 870 and others.
