Tim is correct. QRM = manmade interference (i.e., dimmer switches, halogen
bulbs, power lines, etc.), QRN = natural interference (i.e., lightning
strikes). 73, Rick Dau on the road in Davenport, Iowa and dealing with plenty

Nothing on the X-band here, but a few other things of interest this morning.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
Not quite, but 1548 would have been close if it hadn't been for 1550
splash; their carriers were within 10 dB of each other
A video would be quite valuable I would think, GaryBy the looks
of it there would be more than a few to go through until you find
the exact number that you heard, hi.
best wishes,
Nick

A little more DU action today, with once again the X-band delivering
the only audio.
1628.93 - traces of man speaking at 1124. Interestingly, this was
apparently not the the same station noted on the 10th, as it was about
100 Hz lower, and indeed there was a weaker carrier on 1629.03 toda

Hi Bruce,
Yes, that looks exactly like the group that I heard on 657-Pyongyang (maybe
with a little imagination thrown in).
I may need to monitor 657 more often in the Fall Season from now on :-)

All the comments are appreciated. Thanks!
The lights are already installed, so no going backwards. It's generally only me
here when I'm DXing AM, and sometimes another local DXer or two, so the plan
will be to buy a few small regular portable lamps to use for reading or while
DXing.

It would be QRN, not QRM. Anyway, I have tried 2 LED lamps and they both wiped
out FM completely and messed up AM. The expensive Sylvania was worse than the
WalMart Great Value. CFL lamps bad, but not as bad. CFL lampslast longest

Hello All,
Although almost all TP-DXers seem to be taking a break from the daily chase due
to the miserable May conditions, I thought I would share a bizarre recording
made last month at the Rockwork 4 ocean cliff in Oregon.
At 1147 UTC (0447 local time) it was still tota
