Sorry fellas, but being on the around South America cruise didn't allow my
presence this year. I'm Looking forward to attending in future years.
What I've done on the ship was to collect a number of SDR IQ wav files,
which might be of some interest later. I Did have a look at your off
channel
Wow that's kind of rare. I'm wondering if the sports is WKY Oklahoma City since
they are no longer SS? They were country when I logged way back in 1990. I
heard Granby CO that night as well. KSEI is not uncommon here in SoCal. I have
yet to log KAFF at this location. Hope KHJ has silent periods
A barely audible to poor signal from 774 JOUB between 1143
and 1248. No other signals heard although there was a trace
of one 693 kHz at 1253-1258.
At least it beat the silence of the past several days.
Receivers: Tecsun PL-310 7.5-inch loop-stick couple with
8-inch FSL.
Good DX.

WKY is still SS when I tuned by it last night.

Perseus has a 50 ohm input Mark, while a long wire, especially for
NDB frequencies is high impedance. Some sort of matching
transformer and likely a separate ground rod for the antenna side
would probably help.
I can post a diagram later today if that doesn't already tell you
everything
Didn't the gang on Yahoo's Real DX group conclude that the 700 offset
was likely Red Radio Integridad in San Miguel/Lima in Peru?

Hello All,
It's now 1640 UTC in my motel room here in Grayland and 972-HLCA still had
strong audio until about 5 minutes ago-- pretty wild. Nick was right-- Grayland
exceeded my expectations this morning, with powerful TP audio all across the
band, Japanese, Korean and Chinese stations were
Heard several IDs, was KSEI Pocatello ID.

Pirate activity noted on 1720 quite strong, apparently S of LBI where we're
in the final night of the DXpedition. Featuring mysterious music, a
reverbed deep-voiced male talking over - sounds like it should have been (
and may have been ) broadcast on Halloween.

IDing now as Pirate Radio Boston with an anniversary show and reading
many listener's letters from DXers.

I can confirm that. WKY is my nightly pest on 930 here, and they are running
Spanish, with banda music right now. Webstream is about 2 minutes behind.

A number of DXers have come back with the Dell brand reporting it as quiet with
PERSEUS recordings. Has anyone had experience with this model and would care to
commnt off list?
This morning was actually pretty near good. Lots of carriers and
weak audio on second tier stations, if I listened long and
hard. Might have been a good morning to have been listening on the

Hello All,
An impromptu weekend run to Grayland kicked off with a bang this morning with
Japanese, Korean and Chinese stations all pounding in for a wild 4 hour
session. A new 17 FSL antenna was set up near the picnic table at the end of
Grayland Beach road, and it managed to track down at
I just tuned in to KHJ-930 and heard an announcement that they are changing
format on November 17th to Immaculate Heart Radio. They are currently
playing religious music from Immaculate Heart.

Hi Martin,
Wow! I never thought I would hear of 93-KHJ going religious. How things have
changed in the broadcasting World. But KFRC did the same thing, so I guess I
shouldn't be surprised.

To my surprise the Wikipedia listing of KHJ said nothing about the sale to IHR.
It does now.
