Thanks! I believe Gowdy still owned the stations while I was there. As
far as anything farther north on 1290, nope, but I plan to keep working
roughly N-S on this freq as I feel like it. I would hope to eventually
catch KGVO Missoula MT as they do have a lobe this way, but KOUU Pocatello
Snapped a photo of the KGVO tower at the 1998 IRCA convention in Missoula. That
would be a good one to log. No wonder I've never heard KOUU The Cowms

November clunker propagation continued in full force this morning, limiting
Asian signals to carrier levels. Even the TP carriers didn't seem very
impressed with the situation, as only 594, 1044, 1053 and 1575 managed to
register weak heterodynes, peaking (if you can call it
I just got word, we lost another great DXer, Jeff Kadet. He was one of the top
TV/FM DXers of all time and I believe members of both the IRCA and NRC. We
will be missed. Jeff and I corresponded for a time some years back. My thoughts
and prayers go out to his family.

It's been heard in Newfoundland, though I recall that it came during an
aurora that completely wiped put all of Europe except for weak signals
from Spain. What we discovered was that there appeared to be very few

walk down memory lane. I had lost a lot of bulletins through the years with
moves and all, plus I did not join the IRCA until 1968, so I missed out on the

Through the years, we tend to forget about a lot of DX we had gotten in the
past. With these DVD's, the catches are in digital print forever. Many of us
(me included), no longer has every issue and trying to buy up sets at auctions
and the like, it is not an easy task, if you can even do it.

I heard the old WXTC 1390 back in 1997 from here. It was mixing with the ME
test. I had not heard DX like that on a regional for years. So we still have
that happen rarely. The DXer has to be there at that time though.
