Thanks to Bruce and Colin for their earlier TP reports, and I'm happy that they  both were able to enjoy this morning's enhanced conditions. With my late start at 1255 it was pretty obvious that the Asians had already made some serious noise across the band, and I felt like someone showing up

[IRCA] Alberta TPs for 26 September 2015

2015-09-26 Thread Nigel Pimblett
The last few days here have seen a slow downward trend here in southern Alberta, and today was the most unispiring morning of the week. Plenty of carriers again today, but most rather weak. 702 UNIDVery weak, with man and woman conversing at 1322 774 AUSTRALIA, Melbourne

2015-09-26 Thread Bruce Portzer
Conditions were quite good today, possibly the best of the season here. The Japanese were a bit below the levels of the past few days, but Koreans and Chinese made up for it. 972 and 1566 were particularly impressive. There were plenty of carriers on intriguing channels like 792 1089 1098

[IRCA] 1710 possible "CHIM FM", pirate?

2015-09-26 Thread Tim Tromp
A bit of a mystery tonight in Michigan. I was tuning around the band and found a stronger than usual signal on 1710. Religious talk and Christian pop music from what I could tell with a decent signal but horrible distorted modulation (at times it sounded better using the FM mode on my Perseus).

Certainly more and better carriers than last night. Around ~0430 1215 1377 1422 are the best on average, some with audio or close to it... but others pop up quite nicely at times. 189 has listenable audio. Tonite the European DKaz is visibly better than either the Eu or NEu beverages even on

2015-09-26 Thread R. Colin Newell
With over 50 channels in audio at times, this mornings session was one for the win column. It might have had something to do with a fresh new antenna, A W/NW Flag at 286 degrees remotely adjusted with a Connelly VACTROL unit -- or just that the conditions were just gosh darn good. Last night
