Once again, I set the SDR to record 1255 to 1540 UTC. I should probably
adjust the end time, judging from what the guys in Victoria reported today.
There was no sign of any TPs just before the SDR kicked off, so they
must've been stopped at the border.
Nonetheless, the recording showed an
Hi Guys:
Not much time to review Recordings the past few days, but I did manage to find
a couple of New Stations buried in the Mire!! Both are 1 kW Station Local

Defontes Broadcasting in Hamilton, Bermuda ceased operations about 2 months

This is good stuff. I'd like to have one of those antennas.

** BERMUDA. Hello Glenn, I have a contact there, and he has given me
updates on the radio scene in BDA --- which really does not change
much. I wish I knew him in 2005 when I visited.
All I can tell you at this time, about ZBM 89.1, is that they have

Heard a children's Bible program on 1160 November 7 2200z while in
Newfoundland. Domestic stations were still in daylight at the time. I
presumed this was Bermuda at the time but now that I think about it I would
have expected BBC here, not Bible stuff. Was I hearing Antigua? Still

After another late night of antenna work I wasn't exactly motivated to go out
in the subfreezing back yard for a full sunrise TP-DXing session. Fortunately a
brief check at 1445 revealed only a ghostly signal from 1566-HLAZ and a ghostly
carrier on 1593. Nothing on the low band was showing any
Running out of descriptors on the lifeless morning sessions...
Today a feral dog ran away with the DX.
Only 1566 shows any signs of life because it's the biggest dog on the dial.

Yup. Actually I'm getting pretty good reception of 1566 at 15:25 as I
type. Another reason for 1566 doing so well in Victoria is that there's
no one close to them. On the Perseus, there's a big black area (no
splatter) between 1560 and 1575, so no one bothers 1566. Notice that the

In a nutshell...1566 is fairly listenable at 1530UT however. Beyond
that, even carriers have been pretty thin.

That's about half an hour past Antigua sunset so they are surely possible.
And Google is your friend: Caribbean Radio Lighthouse has a program called
"Storybook Room" at 2200. Sre sounds like a children's program.
