Doing some X-Band monitoring in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, 17 March
2015, I heard a station on 1640 kHz carrying The Blaze programming. My radio
is the CCPocket Radio using the 2.5 kHz BW with CCBuds.
I listened from 0255 - 0305 AM CDT, but did not hear an ID, just several Blaze
Radio

Quick note - KJMJ 580, Alexandria, LA, was unusually strong tonight around 0230
CST (0330 EST) with Radio Maria programming.
I heard and verified this station as KALB back in the early 1970's. Due to its
location on the low end of the dial, it used to have a pretty potent groundwave
signal
Okay, so I admit my being slow on the draw on this, but I've just now noticed
the past 3 nights that KMIC 1590 has not been heard at my QTH in SE Houston.
I knew they were facing possible sale, but I haven't seen or heard anything
about that happening.
Did they allow their license to expire?

UTC on 1080 kHz under KRLD Dallas, followed by a choral Mexican State anthem

While sitting on 710 kHz tonight (12-13 November), I had an interesting radio
experience. At approximately 11:43PM CST (0543 UTC) I heard a signal fading up
to readable levels with a male announcer reading what sounded like either a
news bulletin or an editorial segment. He gave two En Radio

Tuning around on my Sangean DT-400W before going to bed tonight, I heard a CW
station with a fairly consistent signal on 1520. This was around 2350 CDT (0450
GMT).
I kept listening and at the TOH ( CDT, 0500 GMT) was treated with an ID for

As I drove to work this morning, I tuned my 2003 Camry's radio to 90.3 MHz,
right next to local 90.5 MHz KPFT Pacifica Radio. I heard some flutter, but
nothing intelligible. When I pulled into the parking lot at work, the signals
became quite strong and clear.

Try to listen for Radio Canon ID's (pronounced 'Can-yohn'). XEROK from
Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, is a 150 kW station on that frequency. They
use the Radio Canon ID's.
They used to cover pretty much all of the USA before the FCC relaxed the rules
on the clear-channel

I totally forgot that last night was the eve of Mexico's Bicentennial
Celebration and that Presidente Calderon would be leading the El Grito and
ringing the Hidalgo Bell from the Metropolitan Cathedral in the Zocalo Region

the Big Sky tests. Due to personal illness, I was not able
to listen for them, but did not want to let this great opportunity
