During the period 0035-0045 (on 1430) there was a 4th station playing
soft balladic music with a female singer(s) playing several quite long
pieces. The language (as best I could tell through the QRM) was
European, possibly Spanish
Listening period approximately 0015-0045 PDT 8/2/07
San Francisco CA Drake R8A Kiwa Loop
1430 was very strange.Normal dominant on that frequency is KFIG
Fresno with ESPN Sports Network.
0015-0027 noted dominant station on the frequency with a Religious
Preacher. Also noted were KLO Ogden
I tried a bit earlier this morning Nick. Around 1130 UTC but nothing noted
except a weak het or two pointing toward Japan.

Heard once about 2:30 a.m. years ago when they were KAAR. Pretty poor
signal at the time but readable. Then a couple years ago they were
regular at SSS in the late fall. Maybe they still are, I haven't tried
in ages.

my Drake R-8A I can get either depending on how I rotate my Kiwa antenna. On
the car radio at night KGA often disturbs KPIG severely, at least in western

Yes, on those rare occasions KNEW shuts down I have heard CKDQ atop more than
once, but never with much of a signal. Pat, I remember in the mid 60s from
Sacramento--KISN Vancouver would

KGYW (I think) back around 1960. Before local KRAK-1140 became a 24 hr. c&w

Listening to 1470 at midnight PDT through a real jumble of stations, I
heard:
(1) ESPN Sports ID
(2) .1490 and 1470
These very well could have been the same station. The dual frequency
announcement came through clearly (except-of course-the IDs). I have no
record of any western station
I remember KISD when I was a teenager. It was in Sioux Falls SD then with 250
watts on 1230 kHz.
