I listened to your clip many times... thru many speakers and headsets...
1) It doesn't sound like my local 960 WELI which our household listens to
daily... I've been there and our family has been featured on one of their talk
programs within the past year. Yes, WKCI is their FM sister by

my recording of the CFFX test. Turns out that in spite of a solid CFAC
signal throughout, the morse code made it through. It only got through
the one time, soon after 1:00 am EST, but hey, once is more than I

With CKBD gone, it may be easier to pull the IDs out of 600 with the
beverage. KGEZ and SK dominate to a certain amount.

I've been through my recordings a couple of times now and can't find any
sign of CFFX, even with narrow filter settings. CFAC was dominant with
ESPN, KALE was there at times with Gonzaga basketball, KOVO with
Spanish, and an unid c/w (KLAD or KSRA) showed up at times. I may check

Just re-listened to the recording
About a minute and a half after the top-of-the-hour, at both midnight and
1am EST, I heard the morse code breaking through dominant WFIR and Reloj
followed by short sweep tones. Haven't decoded the code yet but it was very
distinct. Some pop music was heard following the code but I don't know if it
and"KINGSTON" in morse in the 0600 recording. Audible at 0700 but
weaker.

A word caution:
The CW some of you are saying you are hearing might not be from CFFX. I
could be from Cuba. Radio Reloj (or Radio Rebelde, it's one of them) plays a
"RR" at the top of each minute.
If you cannot copy CW, even at a slow 5 wpm, you might be fooled into think
you have heard CFFX.
I recorded the first 10 minutes of each hour and I will re-listen to the
cassette and see what I hear again.

OK, I'm pretty certain that I just heard sweep tones and rather slow CW at
about 07:04:30, best heard on my "north" facing corner fed loopactually
aimed about 65degrees. When I switched to other antennae, I heard nothing, and
when I returned to the North loop, nothing. This antenna primari
I listened at each of the 3 times around TOH to 5 minutes after; never heard
a peep of CFFX. (KSRA strong and dominant with C&W the first two times; then
ESPN and SS music with KSRA weaker for the last time.)

The CFFX test came in well with Morse ID's and sweeps just after
midnight; actual program content is tougher though, because it's right
on line with WELI here. I was rewarded with a newie while setting up
for the test, WTCH, Shawano, WI.

One more CFFX note that I neglected to add: as I was making the long
drive from Rochester downstate today, I checked out the CFFX signal one
last time on the way east from Rochester. It was coming in quite
listenably from just east of Rochester (out of the WROC 950 splash) to
just east of Syrac
Guess what, WFIR faded and CFFX popped up.
Heard an Eric Clapton song (I think it was his voice),
several 104.3 ID's and a CFFX ID.
I think this just be a good night.
Hope the rest of you can hear it.

Lite 104.3 CJYY is basically 960 morphed on the FM dial. I think CFFX moved
to 104.3 and 960 will eventually go silent.
