I listened to the recording again and noticed that the second song I
heard was actually in English -- sounded like Aretha Franklin. And the
first song was probably in Spanish as I recognized a couple of words per
my two years of high school Spanish in the previous century.
Most likely one of the ethnic pirates operating in NYC. Might be Spanish,
might be Creole as there's at least one of each operating there from time

as I only hear them off the NE EWE. The Eastern Beverage doesn't get

How well can yuo hear them at 6 miles? Thats a real stretch...
It wasn't great, but listenable, the Gearhart Drive In. I could listen
to the audio on the movie nightly. I saw the 100mw transmitter and the
little whip antenna.

The Gearhart Drive In is also long gone. They were going to build more
homes there, but never did.

The only remaining drive in theatre in the Denver metro region is the 88th
Avenue Drive-In in Commerce City. I recall that they use to distribute the
movie audio on an AM
Good tracking, Dennis. What with the dishes, it is not impossible that it is
relaying the same program as the one we tracked down to the southern fringes of
Everett. I'm waiting for one to show up in Federal Way; every time I go to
Costco or Winco I invariably hear Russian being spoken.

fairly well connected, so maybe the Vancouver 1710 kHz Russians got the

I'm in Costco once a week and Winco twice a week and yes

station must have money because the neighborhood is custom
