Further update: still no crashes since 5 Oct 13 - amazing and mysterious - no
idea why the crashes have stopped. This same thing happened a long time ago
when a significant update was made to Open Office. It is

I have not had time yet to do my own tests on exactly which 2 steps are going
too quickly and triggering the crash. Unless I really concentrate to slow all
the steps right down, I am still getting lot
