to encipher how these stuff are used and then try to find

I haven't seen a screen shot of this, so I am guessing here - but if we are
talking about the checkmarks/triangles - that's gone from the page in
Acrobat/Reader 9.

1) What exactly happens when PDFBox fails? "Nothing", or do you get an error
message, or what?
2) If we could see these PDFs (a "second split" file), we might be able to
figure out what's wrong.
