Looks like cesman over at Knoppmyth central < http://mysettopbox.tv > is
looking for lspci -vv output results for Hauppauage's PVR-{1,2,3}50 and
PVR-500 cards. I suspect he's working on Knoppmyth's auto-configure
functionality to make sure it can detect all the variants well in his
next revision.
3. Perhaps the filename being used isn't ivtv.{k,}o, but something else,
and there's an alias mapping it to that other filename in the modules
setup?

That begs the question: what's the smallest valid mpeg-2 datastream that
can be embedded
Pull the card and see if the lspci changes.
Put the card back in, make sure it is in all the way. Some folks have
been surprised to find that they didn't have it pushed in all the way or
that it was slightly angled in the slot.
Easy mistake to make with cards that have connectors that stick out

You should look for multiple copies of the tuner and tuner-ivtv modules.
IIRC correctly, the one you want is just tuner.ko, and should have a
recent modification date. Might also want to remove the alias tuner
tuner-ivtv line as well.

on the cart to allow you to have additional switched inputs (more than
what's available on the backplane of the card slot). Yes, only one
