In all fairness, I should point out that I only wrote the wrappers to make
RXTX work with JavaComm and many others have enhanced the implementation I
created.
Just go to the listed web page - it is now very easy to control Linux serial
ports from Java. All of the code has been rolled into the st
Hi,
Did my suggestion about reinstalling glibc 1m and doing a complete shutdown
and then reboot, fix your seg-fault problem?
Please let me know if I can move your jdk bug-report to the completed
directory.
Thanks,

Javasoft, sometime in december, did begin to grant non-commercial access
to the 1.2 source. ( I submitted the form for the jdk 117 non-comm
license, but wrote on the form that the request is for the JDK 1.2
sources. )
I got the sources, and have worked on it to get to work on my NEW i386
Java 2 ( AKA JDK 1.2 ) does have swing ( AKA JFC ) included as
a standard extension ( "javax.*" ) package. For any other JDK 1.1.x release
you can download the current version of JFC\swing from sun directly and
use it because in is 100% pure java.
I hope this clears it up for you.
Cheers

It would sure be nice to have basic serial port functionality as part of the
jdk. Does anyone know if Sun is thinking about doing this? All my serial
communications programs have been using the JNI. This works okay, but breaks
platform independence.
